About Bhava-Yoga
Bhava Yoga has developed from the Sivananda Yoga style with at its heart an awareness of the attitude behind the way we hold postures and move between them. It is the development of an attitude of becoming or being in the moment. Simply being here and now, holding, breathing, relaxing, deepening...
The Sivananda Yoga asana sequence is a particularly well balanced sequence of postures that helps relax and strengthen the body, particularly the spine. It is a single sequence that can be practiced at any level from beginnner to advanced. As the practitioner progresses the same sequence reveals more challenging variations and greater depths of concentration.
A typical class consists of 2 breathing exercises, a few rounds of sun salutation to warm up, 12 postures and a deep relaxation to finish. The focus of the classes is on breathing, relaxation and concentration for physical health and mental well-being.
All class are lead in a safe, relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere by Vas an advanced Sivananda Yoga teacher.

About Vasudeva
Vasudeva, born Eric Cummins, came to Yoga from a martial arts background, having practised Judo for thirteen years. Only starting to train in Yoga in 2002, his practice developed partly with both his Yogi parents, but mostly through dilligent self-practice. It was in 2006 that Vasudeva became a Sivananda Yoga Siromani or teacher, receiving initiation from Swami Govindananda in a small Sivananda Ashram in the Himalayas. In 2009 Vasudeva returned to India to deepen his Yogic studies with the most senior Swamis of the International Sivananda Yoga school receiving the title of Yoga Acharya or Master of Yoga from Swami Durgananda and Swami Sivadesananda.
His work as a Yoga teacher lead him into the world of Thai Yoga Massage which is an excellent body/energy work complement to Hatha Yoga. Qualifying as a practitioner in spring 2008 and as an advanced practitioner the same summer. Vasudev went straight on to work as an assistant teacher alongside Kira Balaskas, a founding member of the Traditional Thai Yoga Massage Association in London.
The meditation and relaxation involved in Yoga awoke a keen interest in Hypnotherapy which he is fully certified to practice, having studied with Christine Herve and June Hale co-principals for the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy.
